In 2011 she was given the Icon of the Industry Award during Full Figured Fashion Week . During 1997-2001, she was Fashion Retail Editor at MODE magazine for the full four years of that Vogue executed publication and did her popular “Mode on the Road”. She began as a former Ford Model and subsequently wrote the highly acclaimed how-to guide The Ultimate Plus Size Modeling Guide. She studied the image consulting program at Parsons and is a professional member of the Association of Image Consultants International and serves as the VP of Marketing for the NY Tri State Chapter. She is Image and Style Director of Divabetic, a charity for women living with, affected by or at risk of diabetes. She teaches the premiere image course on special sizes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has an image company for the job fair market called Your Image Power and has been asked to do her popular Powerfully Packaging People For Success”. She writes a popular fashion blog called StyleBoomer which is on the Madison Plus website and column News from a Broad runs on Daily Venus Divas. Her newest endeavor is the Curvy Fashion Show set to launch during Fashion Week in NYC September 2012.
